Requirements & Expectations

As a Shift Qualified Trainee you will be required to obtain training (provided by KVERS) and maintain up- to-date certificates in the following areas:

  • Vehicle Extrication
  • CPR
  • EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operations Course)
  • First Responder Course
  • FEMA Incident Command
  • Blood borne pathogens
  • Communications
  • Patient documentation
  • Map Reading

You will also be required to volunteer a minimum of 24 hours per month as a shift qualified trainee. This requirement will continue as you become shift qualified.

As a Shift Qualified Trainee, you will be expected to be ready to serve the Knox and surrounding counties community needs in emergency & non-emergency situations.
